Demountable footings placement and CTA training this Sunday

TEFC - Demountable

With our replacement termite proof demountable languishing at Winnellie, this Sunday morning 1 March is laser levelling, footing putting in time so that we can bring the Instructor's office and training room down to MKT. If those who can help could be down before morning tea (Mick, you'll have to set your alarm) that will be great.

Coincidentally on the same day there will be CTA training with a briefing taking place at 9.00 am.

For those who have misread the calendars or emails, the level 1 Maintenance Training in Darwin brought to you by Sam and our Technical Manager Steve Bell is in MARCH not this month. We currently have 13 confirmed registrants and current TEFC members do not have to pay the $16 admittance fee.

The training drifter and a wire braced drifter will be used during this time for the training exercise, so I will use the goboko booking system to block out that day until 2:30pm.

Controlled Airspace Training - 1 March

Ron has advised he will be running a training exercise on 1 March to refresh and introduce key aspects of operating inside controlled airspace. This is very timely as ink is almost dry from the CASA side of things on the detail that will permit us to operate in controlled airspace with an endorsement and not requiring the special CASA instrument that we have been so lucky to have over the last three years or so.

To the details. 1 March at MKT briefing at 9.00 am and then the group will head to the south from MKT which suggests that we won't actually be in controlled airspace unless we are heading for Tindal :-)

The topics to be covered are speed control, postion keeping and tower instructions.

On the 8th of March there will be a standard fly around of Darwin - briefing at 9:00 - depart at 9:30 back by 10:30.
