New internal website established for TEFC club members

Following an expressed requirement to publish to our members information that covers a wide gamut of topics from safety to flight standards to the next meeting and working bee I have established a member only website which is a little like a facebook site where members can contribute freely within a virtual clubroom.

I was astounded by the number of people who joined this hastily set up community for the Top End Flying Club and it validated my belief that our club contains a great deal of computer lliterate aviators. Regardless of whether folks are adding comments, events or photographs it adds to the community spirit of what our club stands for.

I believe that in addition to teaching safe flying we should work with other clubs through RA-Aus to create similar online communities that are club based. Although there are a lot of folks who don't mind being talked at via websites, there are many who like to contribute content, advice, pictures, history etc.

The great pictures that Ken and others have provided are ensuring that the TEFC history is a rich multimedia experience that we can now look back on with pride. Around Australia, our membership will have photographs of the unfolding history of their clubs and the organisation that fosters recreational aviation - RA-Aus.
