Each year the East Point Military Museum hosts an open day on the Sunday before or after the 19th of February which is the day we commemorate the bombing of Darwin during WW II.

This year we have been invited by the museum curator, Kay to conduct a fly past of the event at 10am on Sunday the 15th (yes that is next Sunday). This will mean a 9:30 am departure from MKT.

NT News reports on museum event and TEFC flyover

Ron has made himself available for this event which pending weather events or direction from Air Traffic Control will provide a visual addition to the museum events on the ground. Of course it is great PR for us as a club. We will plan to be overhead East Point at 10am and depending on Ron’s assessment we may be able to conduct a couple of orbits around East Point before continuing on our flight back to Noonamah.

We have been provided the opportunity to have a stall on the day and it might be a good idea to have some fliers available for distribution on the ground.

I suspect that briefing at MKT will take place at around 9am for a 9:30 departure. Please have your log book with BFR entry and current license if you are going to participate in this flight. As I will be away please contact Ron directly for further information. His details are on the contacts page.

Of course we have flown past the East Point Museum on a number of occasions and listed below are some photographs from previous flights.

I would actually start at the bottom of this list and work your way up as they are in date order descending.
