This will not mean much unless you hail from Melbourne or went to Melbourne Uni. As an arts student studying Chinese and Indonesian, Naughtons pub was the local university pub for arts students -even though the pub frequented by engineering students - those rough, tough fighting types (and that was just the ladies) was closer to the language faculty.

I read in today's Melbourne Age that it is going to be developed, possibly into student accomodation.

Reading the article took me back to "O" week at Melbourne University, Toga parties and running amok in Parkville - of course all in the name of education.

I imagine the shell will remain, as will many fond memories for the students who received a second part to their university education.
