I have been using Microsoft's tag reader and it is great, especially when you want to create your own tag that points to content. In Tom Khulman's latest blog he has a graphic of an admission ticket to an event in Phoenix . The ticket had a QR Code on it and the code also had a hyperlink which took you to information about the event.
http://www.articulate.com/rapid-elearning/heres-how-to-help-your-subject-matter-experts-build-better-e-learning-courses/ is where the article is and I recommend the article as it talks about working with Subject Matter Experts in an eLearning context.
Back on topic... Microsoft tag reader couldn't read the tag, so I downloaded another reader called mobiletag which is in the app store or you can visit their site at http://www.mobiletag.com.
After installing the app and trying the code on the ticket again... it directed me to an agenda to the event with screenr training videos attached to each of the links.

Now, I looked at two of the 20 or so general eLearning videos which concentrate on the use of tools like PowerPoint to create the foundations for your pull or push style eLearning piece. Now I could copy and paste the url here, but what I really want you to do is get hold of a mobile device with a camera or scanning capability (or a webcam on your PC) and try it for yourself.
Step one - Download and install a mobile reader from Mobiletag.com
Step two - Run the software and use the inbuilt camera on your mobile device - unless it is an iPad :-) You might have to print out the ticket if you can't call this page up on another device
Step three - enjoy the rich content brought to by the folk from Articulate
